My session: Good product decisions vs cognitive biases
The way we interpret our interactions with products and people around us is impacted by biases in every single moment. This affects our lives, our decisions and the products we build. It’s a hard task but we’ll challenge you to come ‚live your biases‘ through real life situation exercises and become aware of how biases affect how you ask questions, you listen and you take product and design decisions. We will also share stories and tips on how to be a more empathetic and objective observer and a better decision maker.

Cette session vous aidera à en être plus conscient dans la manière de poser des questions, d’interpréter l’information et de prendre des décisions produit.

My session: Leading fast innovation: 10 shades of MVP
We all talk about MVPs but what if your Minimum Viable Product doesn’t have to be a product? How about a fake button, a Wizard of Oz experiment or a picnic in the graveyard conversation? If you’re curious of what this means and how to use it, come listen to this talk! From solution brainstorming to running lean experiments to validate your assumptions, this talk will teach you how to test ideas in order to find product market fit.
I will talk about how to articulate clear and actionable product hypothesis and assumptions, how to chose and run the best lean experiments in order to validate or invalidate the solution quickly and in a less costly manner and how to analyse the results and take the best decisions for your product. Get inspired by exemples of out of the box lean experiments that we’ve used in multiple situations and start applying these for your product as soon as you get home.

My session: Impact matters: how to design with empathy and leave your biases behind
“The biggest deficit that we have in our society and in the world right now is an empathy deficit”.
Empathy requires us to put aside our opinions, our culture and our worldview in order to truly understand other peoples’ experiences. But most of the times, empathy is blinded by our own biases. We’re trapped in assumptions and in the need to be right and it constantly hurts our view on the world around us and the impact of the products we are building.
What makes a product design great is not simply listening to the user. It is hearing the user with empathy and without biases. And acknowledging and eliminating biases is one of the hardest and most important tasks when designing today and we can all continuously get better at it.
Take part in this interactive session and become more aware of how you ask questions, you listen and interpret the information that you hear.
I will also tell a series of stories on how we improved product design through empathy and I will go trough the traits of an empathic observer and the tools that we can use to gain a deep understanding of the people for whom we are designing.

SpringOne Conference
7 – 10 Oct 2019
Austin, Texas
My session: Leading product: the sparks, the challenges and the victories
In the past years “product management” became the “it” thing in the tech world. Nevertheless, the mechanics of leading the product are often misunderstood. Is the Product Manager the boss of the team or the boss of the product? Divided between product vision and implementation, between keeping the team strong and motivated and putting the right arguments on the table for management, what does a good Product Manager do to tackle all these aspects of the job and lead the product towards success?
This is a story about leadership without having an official leader title. It is a story about vision, innovation, management and value. And about challenges and hard conversations, because none of the above come without it. And about victories and lessons learned in many years of product management.

My session: Does your product have the WOW Factor?
How can you tell whether your product has the ‘WOW Factor’? How can you link the ‘WOW Factor’ to the success of the product? This speech will center around “the creation of user experiences” and the paradigm of concepts that are widely misunderstood on beauty and simplicity. In order to do so, real-life examples of decision-making during the processes of creating successful products will be explored, where they have adhered to these concepts either very closely or more loosely.
